Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite

The strangest and most random Beatles’ song that exists is “Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite.” Hands down. I get the story (John saw a poster and literally took the lyrics straight off the poster to write the song), but that doesn’t make it any less weird. This is similar to today’s blog post. Just plain odd. Continue reading “Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite”

Helter Skelter

Sometimes it looks like a bomb went off in the house. Particularly in the roof area.

This past week I had a number of evening work-related functions (three days of working nights) and I missed quite a bit of the photographing of said upstairs wall demolition. But worry not! I was able to get some shots. Here is how the roof….upstairs…space above the main house has progressed.

Don’t Let Me Down

Remember when I said the demolition was done? Well, maybe not quite.

Happiness is a Warm Gun

Or, in this case a warm garden.

*Please Note: My Posts for the Blog are generally a week behind actual work at the homestead. Therefore some of you may be aware of the veggies that have already began to appear on the plants. I apologize for the spoiler this week on Facebook-I was just too pumped to hold in the excitement of pea pods and actual baby zucchini growing.

I might secretly be an 85 year old woman, because this gardening stuff is seriously awesome. Continue reading “Happiness is a Warm Gun”

Mean Mr. Mustard

I’m still trying the Beatles titles thing, though I’m not sure it fits, it is a catchy tune! And I think my little shop vac is suited by the name.

Apparently, I’m not such a great job explaining some of the house happenings. But, because I’m at work all day, and things seem to change daily, I will try my best to not mix up what is going on. And, likely, I will just stick to explaining what I am doing and hopefully I don’t mess that up! Continue reading “Mean Mr. Mustard”

Baby You’re a Rich Man

As a little girl I had this premonition. Or, maybe you’d just call it a feeling. I felt as though my future would lead me to some grand peace or conclusion about life that alluded me as a child. I could see myself-as if through a fuzzy lens-as a grown-up. Oh if I could go back and speak to her (ahem, I mean myself). How I wonder what she would think of what I have grown into.
